The publication “Designing information for people living with dementia: recommendations for designers and information providers” is now available in English and Portuguese.
People living with dementia have the right to information that meets their needs. This guide brings together 14 principles and recommendations for creating information resources that are clearer and more engaging, aimed at people living with dementia (not only at carers). It includes guidance on content, navigation, interface, and visual design, applicable to both digital and print formats.
This practical guide was developed under the scope of the research project funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) DECOHDE – Design for a Humanised Communication of Dementia, by a multidisciplinary research team with experience in design for health, dementia care and digital health services: Rita Maldonado Branco (PI), Ivo Fonseca and Joana Quental (co-PI) from ID+, Mariana Ramalhete (DECOHDE research fellow), Oscar Ribeiro and Soraia Teles (FMUP) from RISE-Health, Rita Oliveira and Oksana Tymoshchuk from DigiMedia.
