We would like to thank everyone who submitted their work and contributed to the next edition of the European Academy of Design Conference. Each submission represents a perspective entering a wider conversation on the complex and evolving relationships between design, trust and distrust.

Hosted by the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto (FBAUP) in collaboration with ID+, the 16th International European Academy of Design Conference will take place in Porto from 3 to 7 May 2027.

With the submission period now complete, the review process will begin shortly. Papers will undergo double-blind peer review, with authors due to receive notification of acceptance by 31 January 2027.

As EAD 2027 moves into this next stage, we extend our sincere thanks to all authors for the time, thought and research invested in their submissions and to the wider design research community for its engagement with TRUST__DISTRUST.

We look forward to the conversations, questions and perspectives that will take shape in Porto in May 2027.
