From 28 May to 2 July at the P.PORTO Cultural Centre
A unique artistic project, conceived by Manuel de Novaes Cabral and Sobral Centeno, which brought together, during the pandemic, well-known figures from the visual arts and contemporary literature. Maria de Fátima Lambert is the curator of this exhibition, which later incorporated music at the suggestion of Paula Freire. It opens on 28 May at 6.00 pm at the P.Porto Cultural Centre, coordinated by Olívia Marques da Silva.
‘De casa para um mundo...’ fulfils one of the Centro de Cultura’s objectives through the travelling extension of this exhibition, featuring 45 artists who have participated in the Cerveira International Art Biennial, which has established itself as a leading venue for the promotion and presentation of contemporary art in Portugal, particularly in the northern region. Thus, the exhibition programme has brought together many prominent national and international artists, making the Cerveira International Art Biennial a meeting place for artists who have influenced the way we view and think about art in today’s world.
The continuity of this exhibition programme has, over time, enabled the creation of a space where significant contemporary artistic practices in drawing, painting, design, illustration, music, literature and curation—among other artistic forms—have come together; their creativity, imagination and experimentation are now showcased in this exhibition ‘De cada para um mundo... ’ curated and programmed by Maria de Fátima Lambert, from the Porto Polytechnic Culture Centre, here at Praça do Marquês.
NOTE: To fully enjoy this exhibition – by reading the texts, contemplating the artworks and listening to the musical compositions – stand close to each of the works (and away from other people) and focus your gaze: read the caption and the text and – using your mobile phone and a QR code reader app – listen to the musical pieces. All of this is happy art.
