We are pleased to announce the third edition of the Ligatures Summer School, to be held at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto (FBAUP), Portugal, from July 15 to 17, 2026.
This year’s edition is framed around the theme "Transitions." It will explore the intersections and opportunities between traditional graphic craftsmanship and emerging technological practices—tracing the journey of reading and writing from their tangible roots to speculative, digital futures.
Event Overview
• Days 1 & 2 (July 15–16): Intensive, hands-on design workshops led by international practitioners, exploring creative computation, post-digital workflows, and typographic experimentation.
• Day 3 (July 17): A dedicated postgraduate academic track featuring peer discussions, roundtable panels, international keynote lectures, and our traditional closing community happy hour.
