PCD’26 – Processing Community Day | Poetics of Computational Design

PCD'26 marks the sixth edition of a free event that emerges within the international context of the Processing Community Day as an open-participation initiative dedicated to promoting creative coding and computational thinking in the Arts and Design.

Over the years, and thanks to the active involvement of a diverse community of creatives, the Processing Community Day @ Porto has expanded its scope to encompass multiple tools, methods, and computational approaches.

Under the designation Poetics of Computational Design, the event reaffirms the core values of the Processing Community Day and invites reflection on what computation makes possible and on what gives it meaning beyond the tools of creation.

The theme of this edition Reflect · Resist · Reform proposes a moment of pause and reassessment in a context marked by technological acceleration, automation, and the increasing normalisation of systems that shape behaviour, perception, and thought.

The PCD'26 programme includes talks by Sara Orsi and Filipe Pais on April 29, as well as workshops and an exhibition throughout the event.

We invite local, national, and international participants to join us at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto.
