ID+ IPCA Summer School Talks 2026

As part of the ID+ IPCA Summer School 2026, a series of talks will take place from 21 to 24 July, bringing together researchers and invited speakers from Portugal and abroad to discuss current research and emerging perspectives in Design.

The programme features six sessions covering a diverse range of topics, including academic careers in design research, documentary animation, graffiti writing, sustainable footwear design, material-driven design, cultural heritage, artistic practice, and informal cultural landscapes. Each talk offers insight into ongoing research projects, methodologies and interdisciplinary approaches that are shaping contemporary design.

The programme opens with a discussion on the FCT Tenure Programme at IPCA and the University of Porto, followed by presentations from Mattia Ronconi, Garima Bhardwaj, Palloma Fernandes, and João Cóser, whose work spans design research, visual culture, sustainability, material innovation, and artistic inquiry.

The talks are open to all Summer School participants and provide an opportunity to engage with leading researchers, exchange ideas, and explore current challenges and opportunities in design research.
