Unexpected Media Lab (LUME) aims at the re-calibration of contemporary and traditional media towards common good. We trust that current, accelerated technological developments need critical input from the Humanities and Social Sciences, and believe Design to be a suited mediator in this process. Similarly, we enquire into ongoing processes of media obsolescence, proposing a re-imagination and re-purposing of dead media.
Mission
-to contribute to a healthier, informed and mindful relationship between citizens and current media tools, semantics and narratives;
-to re-purpose dead media into renewed roles, relevance and valuation;
-to mediate multi-disciplinary communication, ensuring critical input by Humanities and Social Sciences in accelerated, self-driven technological innovations.
