ID+ – Research Institute for Design, Media and Culture is pleased to announce that two international edited volumes published by IGI Global and edited by Frederico Dinis, researcher at ID+, have been indexed in Scopus.
Entitled “Spatial Aesthetics of Memory: Place, Perception, and Performative Experience” and “Material Cultures of Memory: Archives, Heritage, and Visual Representation”, the volumes are a direct outcome of the first edition of the Performativity(ies) of Memory(ies) Interdisciplinary Conference, organised by ID+ in 2025. Together, they comprise 22 chapters by researchers from different disciplinary fields and geographical contexts, bringing diverse perspectives to the interdisciplinary study of memory and artistic research.
Two complementary approaches to memory
“Spatial Aesthetics of Memory: Place, Perception, and Performative Experience” examines the connections between memory, space, perception, and performative practices, with particular attention to the ways places become sites of remembrance and how memory is experienced and reshaped through spatial, cultural, and artistic practices.
“Material Cultures of Memory: Archives, Heritage, and Visual Representation” addresses the material and visual dimensions of memory, exploring the role of archives, heritage, museums, visual culture, and artistic practices in preserving, interpreting, and reimagining the past.
Taken together, the volumes establish a dialogue across memory and cultural studies, heritage, visual arts, architecture, history, anthropology, art studies, and media studies, highlighting the multiple ways in which memory is mediated, embodied, represented, and transformed.
International visibility
The inclusion of both publications in Scopus marks an important milestone for the volumes and contributes to increasing the international visibility and accessibility of the research they contain. It also represents a significant outcome for ID+ and the Performativity(ies) of Memory(ies) Interdisciplinary Conference, reinforcing their contribution to international academic debate in the field of memory studies and artistic research.
