The deadline for submitting extended abstracts to XTREMERS – Symposium on Body as Interface for Extreme Users has been extended to 10 October 2026.

XTREMERS invites scholars, designers, artists, performers, architects and researchers to explore the body as an interface and the possibilities that emerge when interaction is designed from the edges of human experience.

Taking place on 13 November 2026 at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto, with an online component, the symposium will address topics including embodied interaction, extreme users, non-normative bodies, extreme environments, performance, play, haptics, brain-computer interfaces and speculative design.
