PHD STUDENT MARINA CASTRO FROM UNIV.OVIEDO ON POSTGRADUATE INTERNSHIP AT ID+ UA FROM SEPTEMBER TO DECEMBER 2024

Marina Castro Cabero (Oviedo, 1998) holds a degree in Art History from the University of Oviedo (2020) and a Master’s in Advanced Studies in Art History: Research and Management (2021) from the same university. She is currently an FPU predoctoral researcher in the Department of Art History and Musicology at the University of Oviedo. Her research project is developed within the framework of the Consolidated Research Group EsArt, Scenarios for Art, where she also participates in the 3RMOMO Project, Recover, Rethink and Revalue the Modern Movement in Asturias. Architecture and Design (1939 – 1975).

Both her Bachelor’s Thesis, Master’s Thesis, and her doctoral research have followed the same path: the dissemination and preservation of Asturian artistic heritage, with the aim of highlighting the various perspectives present in the region. Her doctoral research project is titled: Industry in Art. Landscape, Identity, and Heritage in Contemporary Asturian Creation (1939 – 2020). The proposal aims to analyze the impact that industrial activity has had on contemporary artistic creation in Asturias, incorporating a cross-cutting, interdisciplinary, and gender-based approach, aligned with new research trends focused on the analysis of cultural heritage, its conservation, and protection.
