Cláudia Lima was awarded the prize for Best Innovative Teaching Practice (FAZER+/ILIND/MPPI/1/2025), as part of COFAC’s Fazer + Funding Programme. This is in recognition of the work carried out at a UC — Design Laboratory, 3rd year of the Communication Design Degree at Universidade Lusófona — in the context of the REMIND research project — Design for people with dementia, with the support of ID+ and in partnership with the Alzheimer Portugal association. In this CU, over the course of one semester, students develop artefacts for cognitive, sensory and emotional stimulation, based on biographical and cultural components of people living with dementia, using participatory design methods. The award is the result of work carried out over the last four years. In addition to Cláudia Lima’s contribution, the project was developed in collaboration with Susana Barreto, Eliana Penedos-Santiago and Heitor Alvelos.
