28 to 31 May 10h00 to 18h00
Casa do Jardim da Estrela, Lisbon
Diana Vieira da Silva, PhD student in Design at FBAUP and ID+, will present her research work through the installation-exhibition ‘O Tempo do Fazer’, as part of Lisbon Design Week.
‘Tempo do Fazer’ is about the relationship between time, the present, vernacular culture, ecology and design. Through objects, prototypes and artefacts, O Tempo do Fazer explores the rhythm of artisanal production in dialogue with nature. It questions the way we measure time, value materials and build things to last, offering design as a way of navigating between urgency and reflection in a changing world.
Participants include Célia Esteves, Diana Vieira da Silva, Diogo Amaro, Felipa Almeida, Pedrêz, Frederico Burmester, Gorvell, João Xará, Joaquim Pombal, Júlio Dolbeth, Mariana, a Miserável and Sam Baron. Each practice combines interdisciplinary knowledge, processes, activities and skills related to the craft system.
This initiative is financed by national funds through FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P., under project UID/04057: Instituto de Investigação em Design, Media e Cultura and doctoral research grant ref. 2022.10170.BD.
