WELCOME PROF. ENRIQUE GALÁN!
Enrique Meléndez Galán (Badajoz, Spain, 1991) holds a PhD in Heritage from the University of Extremadura (Spain), where he studied History of Art and a Master’s in Research in Arts and Humanities. At the University of Extremadura, during the preparation of his thesis and afterwards, he was a professor until 2020. In 2021, he was appointed assistant professor at the University of Oviedo (Spain), where he currently works as director of the Avilés Film Chair. His lines of research focus on Cinema and Visual Culture, Transmission of Knowledge and New Technologies applied to Heritage. Meléndez Galán has spent time at other university institutions such as Sapienza, Università di Roma (Italy) or the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (Portugal) and has numerous publications and contributions to conferences both in Spain and Europe. For a month from 15 April, Meléndez Galán will be staying at ID+ as part of the multidisciplinary CULTURALITY project, funded by the Horizon Europe 2030-Research and Innovation Action programme. The consortium of 13 partners from 9 different countries, including the University of Aveiro, is led by the University of Oviedo, of whose coordination team this professor is a member.
