Mário Paulo Teixeira Pinto

PhD in Informatics from Universidade Portucalense, in 2008. Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, 2000. Degree in Informatics/Applied Mathematics from Universidade Portucalense, 1989. Professor at Escola Superior de Media Artes e Design (ESMAD), from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto(IPP), since 1996. Coordinator of the Degree in Information Systems and Technologies for the Web. Researcher at uniMAD, where he participated in several projects (https://unimad.esmad.ipp.pt/). Preferred research fields: Computer Programming Learning; Gamification; e-Learning, mobile learning and distance learning; Knowledge management systems. He has more than a dozen technical books published (by FCA and Centro Atlântico publishers), around 40 scientific papers published (in Proceeddings or scientific books), almost all SCOPUS indexed. He is, currently, member of numerous scientific committees of various international associations and conferences. He was President of the Technical-Scientific Council of ESMAD (2017-2020), Member of the Installing Committee of ESMAD (2016-2017), President of the Technical-Scientific Council of the Higher School of Industrial and Management Studies (2015-16), Vice-President President of the same Scientific Council (2014-2015), Member of the General Council of the Polytechnic of Porto (2015-2017), among several other roles he performed.
